Multnomah Falls

The first stop in our adventure was Multnomah Falls.  This spectacular view is 611 ft and is a part of the Columbia River Gorge.

Mount St. Helens

No words can describe the awe of seeing Mount St. Helens for the first time.  It is just amazing.  Unfortunately, we could not drive up to the Johnston Ridge Observatory because it was still closed for the season due to the current road conditions.

This gives us enough incentive to plan a return visit.

So far, this is the ultimate highlight of the trip.

We are all heading north to the home of 70,000 cute critters....any thoughts?!?

Gone West!

Today is our first full fledge day of vacation. We are heading to see Mr. X who is 611 ft tall and only at an elevation of 50 ft. Where am I going???

Idaho Springs, CO

Idaho Springs is a little gem suggested to us by a co-worker.  This place did not disappoint.

The little shop that our credit card escaped...oh boy...was that an expensive stop.  

This town is west of Golden, CO.  It is home to Beau Jo's, the home of the Beaughetti...all I can say is spaghetti in a garlic bread bowl.  Helllooooooo!!!  It will lead to a carb-induced coma, but it is mighty tasty going down, and it is well worth it!

Golf anyone????

Who needs to go into to the woods to see elk?!?  Not us.  The elk seem to love Estes Park, CO.  We can't blame them, it was perfect golfing weather...

Homecoming ... what a day!!!

As most of you know (who read the blog), we found AJB in Golden, CO.  When he found out we were coming, you can imagine his excitement.  Yesterday, we walked around his old chewing grounds.  :)  

This is still one of my favorite view in Golden.  I love this plot of land by the creek.

Based of intel from a coworker back in NC, we hit the road to Idaho Springs.  There will be more pictures of this stop later, but Poppa Wez wanted to get a little artsy with AJB!

This was taken at Dillon Reservoir in the Arapaho National Forest!!!  Looks like AJB is happy to be back "home".

We are #1

At least for a day, NC STATE is #1 in the ACC standings for men's college basketball!!!  Woo hoo!  However, in all honesty, we are sharing the #1 spot with Duke and FSU.

That does not matter to me at all!  I can at least for 1 day say we are #1 in our conference.  I haven't been able to say that for a LONG time!!!!
