It's Gobble Time

Wezul and I returned home today after being in Illinois and Iowa for Thanksgiving week. We started our trip out visiting my family. We only had the opportunity to see my Uncle...but as always, it was a fun time. Wezul had to take our picture at the sign. I will be lying if I totally understood but for some reason he got a huge chuckle and had us stand there with AJB. After visiting with Uncle, we headed to Wezul's hometown in Clinton, Iowa. We stayed there until Friday morning. We got to meet the newest member of the family, SJP, he is such a cutie. Of course, we had to fight Grandma and Grandpa Pfeifle to hold him, but when we did get the chance it was great. And yes, for those who are wondering, Wezul did hold his new nephew (we have pictures to prove it) and he got plenty of playing time with GAP, and she didn't run from him.
On Monday, we made the Pfeifle homemade sausage. This time three generations of Pfeifles participated as you can see above. I got to document this festive process; however, as always, I got stuck holding the sausage. Hahaha!!! To see what I mean feel free to visit the Wezul Web. After the sausage was put into casings, it was time to smoke the goodies. It went pretty well...except for...a small collapse.
The beer was OKAY and wasn't hurt or spilled during the fall. :) Wezul wasn't hurt either, but the beer didn't survive long after they recovered from the tumble, he polished it off rather quickly. Other than that, we had a pretty good time in Iowa. We saw lots of family on this trip.

We left Friday morning and 6am and returned to NC after midnight. Probably, the most amazing part of the trip was that Wezul and I didn't kill each other after being in a car for 18 straight hours. Life is truly grand!!!

Winning in the rain....

Just winning in the rain...oh what a glorious feeling to be winning in the rain.

This has been a wacky weather weekend here in the good ole state of North Cackilacky...Friday was raining...overnight we had severe weather...and Saturday was WINDY as all get out and raining.

We got to the tailgating fields about 11:30 am. And we were greeted by blue skies and non-stop wind...as you can see below...

With exception to the winds, the rain held off until we decided to head to the stadium. As you can tell from the picture of moi, things got a little wet. Once we got to the stadium, the skies cleared, and the winds died down. However, by half time, the rain was a pouring. We were again hunkered down in our ponchos.

The Pack opened with a TD on their first drive. But in true Pack fashion, they let WFU stay in the game. It came down to WFU's last drive, but our boys were able to hold their own and come away with the victory and their second conference win.

Ho Hum!!

It has been awhile since our last post!

Things have been quite hectic on our end. They will only be getting crazier over the next four weeks.

Good news...as I am typing this...Wezul and I are occupying the same space...our house. What a little nice feat. The week of October 27th I was in Denver for work...last week...Wezul was in Greenville, SC...and he is going back again this week for his work. Woo hoo!!!!

Other than that, things have been moving along. A new family member came into the world while I was in Denver...a brand spanking new nephew...SJP...the first Pfeifle grandson for Wezul's parents...tomorrow I am co-hosting a shower for one of my bestest friends for her little man to be...JMW...

Life is progressing pretty well right now......next Saturday will be full of tailgating goodness...who knows what mischief we will get into.............
