Fall has arrived!

What a wonderful time of the year!!!

Football...hockey...the end of baseball...cooler weather...fair food...hmmmm...yum...did someone mention fair food!!

Fair food...the local county fair has a very special booth...the VFD that my dad is on. I grew up eating the food there...to this day...it has my favorite hamburger/hot dog chili. I like to think it is a special receipe...it taste like no can chili I have ever had...so...I will stay in denial and continue to believe it is the perfect homemade burger/hot dog chili.

I came to an very important conclusion this past Tuesday as Wezul and I took part at MM VFD Family night at the fair booth before the fair started. I realized the chief architect of the chili was a NCSU supporter. This might explain my love for NCSU at a young age. Growing up I was surrounded by UNC supporters...could the chili explain my insane support of NCSU?!?

Hmmmm...chili...yum!!!!

In a couple of weeks, Wezul and Paco will be making the rounds of the State Fair...can you say grown men walking around with turkey legs, various sausages surrounded by a little bread, ostrich, pork, and numerous foods on a stick. ARGH ARGH ARGH!!!

Football...besides the obvious thrill of us BEATING ECU on 9.20.2008, I am finally getting the opportunity to go to my first home game at Carter-Finley Stadium. :) As surprising as it sounds, YES, this will be my first home game.

Let's see why I didn't make to a game while I was at school:
  • Full-time student
  • Internships
  • Part-time work at local bookstore
  • Part-time work at a community college
  • another side gig with the ARC - these all were concurrent with each other
It will be Homecoming...we will play Boston College...and I can't wait. Come Sunday...I hope we will have good news...1) we won 2) fun pics from our tailgating adventures!!!!

GO PACK!!!

The Carolina Hurricanes will kick off their 2008-2009 season on 10.10.08. Woo hoo! We opted for NCSU football tickets this year, and we will only be going to a few select hockey games this year instead of our usual mini-pack plans.

As happy as I will be to see baseball go bye bye...I have to say Good Luck to my dad's and brother-in-law's beloved Cubbies this October......

WE BEAT ECU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NCSU WINS!!!!!!!

We won! We beat ECU. The final score was 24 - 30!!! It was won in overtime. 2 years in a row we have turned them into losers...sorry to all our ECU friends...but we won! Sorry that ECU will not be 4-0. :)

Generic Update

As you saw awhile ago, things were really hectic for this particular Pfeifle Clan. Both of us have been traveling separately. Up until this week, Wezul and I have been in the same spot for at the most for 1.5 days. Wezul was supposed to be home this week, but plans changed at the last minute and he had to work out of town again. So, AJB and I packed up and followed the big guy to Greenville, SC. As scary and crazy as it sound, he even suggested it too.

I have to officially pass the "Traveling the Most for Work Crown" to Wezul this year. Here is why:
  • 4 Weeks in VA
  • 3 Weeks in Greenville, SC
  • 2 Weeks in Greenville, SC (July)
  • 2 Weeks in Greenville, SC (current)
The year is not over, and it appears that Wezul may have to return back to Greenville in a month or two. We are not really sure yet. Fun fun!!!

On top of all this, my sister decided she wanted a vacation in the hospital for two weeks. She is doing better, but she still has a good way to go before she tries to run a marathon.

We have plenty coming up. We bought four tickets for NC STATE football. We will be going to the BC, FSU, WF and Miami Games. All ACC games...all tailgating madness...and I can only hope my boys can pull out one game. Preferably, I hope they win all four games, but I will take one game. So, be on the look out for post game updates!!!

We are going to be redoing the front bushes in the yard soon. We will get the rocks this weekend. I have no clue when we will get the project completed, but you will see the outcome here first.

That is just a sliver of the insanity that has been going on here...trust me...there is more to come...

It's Been Awhile

We don't really have anything to say. Things have been extremely crazy on our end. I thought I would just pop up and say "hello" from us down here...so those who check this on a regular basis know that we haven't abandoned our little blog. Life has overtaken us right now, but hopefully we will settle down soon and get back to updating everyone on our little happy escapades.
